Sometimes at the darkest hour,
Hope shines the brightest…

When Col’s childhood imaginary friends come to life, he discovers a world where myths and legends are real. Accompanied by his guardians – a six-foot tiger, a badger in a waistcoat and a miniature knight – Col must travel to Blitz-bombed London to save his sister.

But there are darker forces at work, even than the Nazi bombings. Soon Col is pursued by the terrifying Midwinter King, who is determined to bring an eternal darkness down over everything…

  1. “This book has the power to become a classic. It takes me on a rollercoaster of joy, sadness and peace. However, there is one issue with it. You can’t put it down!”

  2. I have just finished reading this book and I know I will read it again and again. It is a modern classic: full of heart and imagination with the ability to thrill and to move the reader deeply. You get caught up with the story and the characters and you are transported to a time in British history with which we are all familiar and yet the author makes you see it with fresh eyes. Oh and the magical aspect to the story puts it up there with the works of C S Lewis. With the parallels the author draws with things happening in modern times (he doesn’t overdo it; he does not preach), this is a must read for anyone. Not just for children.

  3. Hi Ross,
I really love ❤️ your book ‘The Midnight Guardians’.For me,it’s up there with the Harry Potter books and the Hobbit.
I got this book from Santa last Christmas and it’s SUPERB!
    Best Wishes,
